This program is designed specifically to assist families who need professional help with their special needs children. Elmhurst staff provides individualized programming for the children. They also teach parents new skills and strategies to help cope better with the child’s disabilities. In addition, the staff provides a much-needed break for the family. This service enables children who might otherwise have to be hospitalized to receive the help they need in the security of their own homes. Staff work very closely with the parents to assist them in developing behavior management plans and teaching new skills to their child. Services are delivered to children and their families in Sagadahoc, Cumberland and Lincoln counties.
